Nala Johnson resides in the city of Camden, New Jersey, also known as the second most dangerous city in the world. She is an instrumentalist and studies trumpet and F horn. Nala dedicates her time to the community through her involvement in several band programs, traveling with a professional African Dance group (Universal African Dance and Drum Ensemble), and acting in several plays with the Camden Repertory Theater. Her passion for performing arts is a factor that positively impacts her peers, by encouraging them to substitute adverse behaviors with enjoyable activities that produce positive outcomes for themselves. Nala was recently inducted into the National Honor Society for excelling in academics. Nala’s spirit and outspoken personality provides her with the opportunity to voice opinions that may be unheard for any reason, and gives her the opportunity to represent young women overall.
